LGLG Who, What, Where, When and How?
LGLG are a community based ‘not for profit’ organisation providing support in all areas of living, for members of the Gypsy and Traveller community within the county.
We are based at Mercury House, Foxby Business Park, Gainsborough. We may be contacted via our website, by post or phone call or by personal visit. However we are working out of the office with families for much of the time so do please ring and make an appointment to ensure that someone will be there to help you with your enquiry.
Below are some examples of the areas that we work with:
- Assistance with literacy and information
- Maintaining your home whether this is on an authorised site, private site, unauthorised development or in bricks and motor housing
- Help to make sure that your private site plans meet caravan site licence requirements and signpost to expert assistance
- Help with managing your money
- Signpost to relevant welfare & benefits
- Signpost to training/ education / assist with employment difficulty
- Health and well being
- Signpost to and support emotional needs
- Liaison and support from workers who understand the difficulties on a personal level
- Signpost to expert planning consultants
- Telephone will be answered promptly and answered by the end of the next working day
- An acknowledgement of letters within 5 working days and a full response within 15 working days
- A response to referrals within 5 working days
- We will visit in your own home if you wish
- An assessment of your support need within 10 working days you can ask for a review at any time
- Support plan will be explained and a copy will be available to you
- Support plan and work undertaken will be reviewed regularly
- BSL Sign Language communicator is available through DGLG office if required
